Ianthe Roper (granddaughter of Stanley George Platts and Edith Marion de Verinne) thinks Joseph's father was not Jean but actually Charles de Verinne, who married Marie Queiros in Serampore in Apr 1801, and to whom a son was born in 1802. Charles de Verinne died in Cawnpore in 1810 and his relationship to Jacques Maxime is unclear. Charles John de Verinne was the son of Charles de Verinne and Marie Quieros, and may have been Joseph's brother.
